About
Virginia Ikkanda-Suddith has close to twenty-five years of experience in fundraising, mainly on staff in higher education and health care. As a consultant, she has gained additional experience with a variety of clients.

For the first nineteen years, as part of UCLA’s fundraising team, Ms. Ikkanda-Suddith primarily served in the medical sciences where she held various positions, most notably Director of Development for the UCLA Medical Center, Director of Development for Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and Director of Operations and Planning for UCLA Health Sciences Development during the first UCLA campaign. Later, as Director of Special Projects for University Development and a member of the central development staff, she devised and implemented strategies and plans with department-wide impact and gained an overview of fundraising operations in a centralized model.

At the University of Southern California (USC), Ms. Ikkanda-Suddith served two and a half years as the Assistant Dean for Advancement at the Rossier School of Education, overseeing development, alumni relations and events for the school within the university’s decentralized development model.

Between UCLA and USC, Ms. Ikkanda-Suddith held the position of Vice President with the international philanthropic management firm of Grenzebach Glier & Associates, where, over a two-year period, she assisted a variety of clients—participating in a number of studies and providing on-site counsel.

Now an independent consultant, Ms. Ikkanda-Suddith brings to your organization more than two decades of fundraising experience plus an earlier career in public education that ranged from classroom teacher, program director and area advisor in the Los Angeles Unified School District to clinical instructor at the UCLA School of Education.
